It is time for the mid-season check-in of the Raven 2 Tower of Chaos, Season 12. This season kicked off with a flurry of server and class transfer tickets. Specifically, the class transfer window ran from the update on May 27 through to the early hours of June 24, with extra opportunities thrown into the mix. With a generous window and plenty of chances to swap, it has been a massive variable for the leaderboard grind.

Looking at the overall records, Gunslinger rankers are having an absolute field day. They hold the top two spots and account for 10 out of the top 20. Sitting on the throne is 'VC원장º', who cleared floor 50 in just 7 seconds. Judging by the nickname, class, and time, I suspect they are the same player as 'VC罒원장º', who topped the leaderboard earlier in the season. Meanwhile, '라온FRED', who held 3rd place back then, has stuck with their class and nickname, matching their previous 50-floor time of 12 seconds. However, with the Gunslinger surge, they have been pushed back to 5th.

The barrier for entry into the top 20 has tightened, now requiring a 50-floor clear in 22 seconds—a 3-second improvement. The current crop of top rankers includes 3 Night Rangers, 3 Vanguards, 1 Assassin, 2 Destroyers, and 1 Elementalist. The lone Assassin in the top ranks, '노쇼한쓰라리', claimed 3rd place with a 50-floor time of 9 seconds. Unfortunately, the number of top-tier Assassins and Gunslingers is starting to dwindle. I will break that down in the charts below.

Tower of Chaos: Top 5 by Class

The Assassin class has taken a hit in the class-specific top 5 rankings. The number of rankers hitting floor 50 has shrunk to three, with the next highest climbers only reaching floor 47.Furthermore, while the new Warlord class has managed to improve its peak performance, the overall clear times for its rankers have actually slowed down. Both classes seem to be losing momentum in the Raven 2 Meca Ranking regarding popularity and share, and that lack of presence is now manifesting in the Tower of Chaos as well.

Conversely, fellow melee classes Vanguard and Berserker are shaving seconds off their times. While Vanguard leader '라온FRED' maintained their time, the top 5 average clear speed improved from 29.6 seconds to 20.2 seconds. The Berserker has lowered their peak from 37 seconds to 26 seconds, with the top 5 average dropping from 43.6 seconds to 34 seconds. It seems the melee meta is splitting into two camps: Vanguards/Berserkers versus Assassins/Warlords.

Ranged classes—Night Ranger, Destroyer, and Gunslinger—are generally seeing faster clear times. As noted, they are the ones dominating the overall top 20. Destroyers have seen improvements in both their peak and top 5 times, while Night Rangers and Gunslingers present a mixed bag: the former saw a better peak but slower times for ranks 2-5, while the latter stayed steady at the peak but sped up across the board for the rest of the pack.

But the real story is in the headcount. While more Night Rangers are finally breaking through the 40-floor wall, the Gunslinger ranks are thinning out. It feels as if Gunslingers are becoming a niche for the elite, whereas the Night Ranger pool is steadily growing.

Tower of Chaos: Class Share

We have adjusted our methodology for the Tower of Chaos class ratio charts. Previously, we counted every ranker on the in-game leaderboard, but moving forward, we are analyzing the share of those who have cleared floor 40 to focus on the high-skill tier. We also re-calculated the season-start data using this new standard for a fair comparison. The number of players clearing floor 40 has jumped from 652 at the start of the season to 803 now.

This criteria shift has widened the gap between Night Ranger and Divine Caster. We have 266 Night Rangers past floor 40 compared to 174 Divine Casters. It is a natural split between the ranged DPS and healer roles. Following them are Berserkers in 3rd and Vanguards in 4th, with both seeing an increase of over 20 players who have cleared floor 40. The 5th-place Elementalist saw an increase of 17.

Gunslinger, Assassin, and Warlord saw their ranker counts drop by 4, 7, and 15, respectively. It seems many players opted for a career change following the initial Tower of Chaos tally. Given that the top record holders are Gunslingers and Assassins, these classes are increasingly feeling like high-skill territory, with a widening performance gap between the elite and the rest. We will see if they can bounce back in the final Season 12 report this July.
