Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Content Agency (GCA) are now inviting local youths to register for the '2026 Game Career Lecture' and the '2026 Gwangmyeong Mayor's Cup Youth Esports Tournament.'

The 2026 Game Career Lecture will run for seven sessions from July 25 to September 5 at the Gwangmyeong City Game Creation Lab, located on the third floor of the Haan Library. This programme is designed to offer tailored education for elementary, middle, and high school students across Gyeonggi Province, as well as their parents.

The elementary course (sessions 1-2) focuses on understanding esports with parents, featuring practical sessions in Brawl Stars and FC Online. For middle and high school students (sessions 3-6), the curriculum dives into career exploration with industry experts, alongside general and advanced Valorant coaching sessions matched to their current rank. The final seventh session concludes with a special lecture by an esports caster, followed by an opportunity to watch the Mayor's Cup finals in person. Participation is entirely free, and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until July 22.

The 2026 Gwangmyeong Mayor's Cup Youth Esports Tournament is open to middle and high school students residing in Gyeonggi Province. Valorant has been selected as the official title, and the organisers are recruiting 32 teams of five members each on a first-come, first-served basis until August 23.

The online preliminary rounds (single-match format) will take place on August 29 and 30, followed by the offline finals, held as a best-of-three series at the Gwangmyeong City Game Creation Lab on September 5. The top three teams will be awarded group certificates and commemorative prizes.

Tak Yong-seok, the head of the GCA, noted, "We hope that our youths will use this summer break as a productive time to explore the game industry as a promising career path and concretise their dreams." Tak added, "We will continue to provide support so that Gyeonggi's youth can enjoy a healthy gaming culture and grow into future talents in the esports sector."
