In the opening week of the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Stage 2, hosted by Riot Games, Gen.G secured two straight victories to claim the sole lead, despite a massive roster overhaul.

Gen.G promoted Kim Min-seok from the Gen.G Global Academy (GGA) and brought in Kim Nak-yeon, formerly of T1 eSports Academy (T1A), to serve as the new in-game leader. With this fresh lineup, the team swept ZETA DIVISION (ZETA) 2-0 in the opener before taking down Nongshim RedForce 2-1. During these matches, Kim Na-ra became the third player in VCT Pacific history to reach 3,000 kills, while Ha Hyun-chul put in a strong performance, racking up a total of 60 kills across three sets.

Meanwhile, DRX, placed in the Omega group, finished the opening week with a 1-1 record. In their first match against DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM), No Ha-jun carried the momentum with 63 kills to secure a 2-1 comeback win. However, they faced a wall against Team Secret (TS), falling short as the opponent's Neon proved too mobile. Kang Ha-bin fought hard, logging 19 kills in the second set, but the efforts were not enough to prevent the defeat.

In the clash between seasoned veterans T1 and Paper Rex (PRX), T1 edged out a win after a grueling full-set series. T1 filled the gap left by the retired Lee Jae-hyuk with the newly promoted Kang Dong-ho. The third set was a nail-biter, ending in a victory after four overtime rounds. Ham Woo-ju stood out during the overtime chaos, securing the win and earning T1 11 Championship points—a promising start for their journey toward Champions Shanghai.
