NEXON announced on the 23rd that it has rolled out the Season 40 Mechanic 2 update for KartRider Rush+. This season picks up the threads from Season 18 Mechanic, whisking players back into a reawakened machine metropolis for some high-octane racing.

The update brings a deluge of new karts, characters, and tracks to the fold. Leading the charge are two highlight karts, Flare Viper and Venom Viper, accompanied by two new speed karts and four item karts. The roster expands with five fresh characters, including Riley and Technician Naiad, alongside five new pets like the Maple Spirit flying pet and Mecha-Meow. Furthermore, a new speed track, Mansion: Afternoon Holiday, is now available, with the Beach: Exciting Summer Vacation track—covering both speed and item modes—joining the fray on August 7.

Over in the homestead-style Rush Farm content, a new Aquarium system has been introduced. Unlocked once Rush Farm Center reaches level 20, the Aquarium lets players boost the stats of sea creatures using food earned from missions, ultimately increasing coin yields or nurturing new species. Players can tackle weekly missions to earn Star Coins, which can be exchanged at a dedicated shop for various goods or new buff items.

Meanwhile, NEXON is hosting a variety of events to mark the new season. By August 23, players who collect 15 pieces each of four types of fragments, including watermelon and ice cream, in multiplayer matches will be rewarded with a permanent Sailor Tiara character. Additionally, until September 16, players can swap season coins in the season exchange for permanent items such as Pool Rabbit Naiad and Buggy Turtle. To celebrate the Aquarium's debut, experience and quantity buffs will be active from July 24 to 26, with rewards like batteries handed out based on growth tiers.
