After the dinosaur-themed soulslike 'DinoBlade' made quite a splash back in July, it seems we have a new contender for our attention—this time, featuring a protagonist of the canine variety.

Parry Frame Studio, the Chinese developer that brought us 'Crimson Oath' this past April, dropped a concept promo for their latest title, 'Stray Dog: Nobody Cares', via Bilibili on August 20.

As the title implies, you play as a stray dog. Set in a war-torn medieval era plagued by a tyrannical legion, the narrative kicks off when a loyal, albeit disgraced, knight is framed and marked for execution after discovering a dark secret. Naturally, the knight’s loyal companion decides to take matters into its own paws, grabbing a blade in its mouth to mount a rescue mission.

In terms of gameplay, this hound wields the knight's rusted blade with surprising finesse. The combat system includes stealth takedowns, precise parries, and powerful finishing moves. You will be farming XP and gold from fallen foes to unlock new skills, alongside some light exploration to uncover treasures hidden within the stages.

Parry Frame Studio took to their Steam page to express gratitude for the unexpected success of 'Crimson Oath'. The team admits they were just a small group of soulslike enthusiasts who eventually found their footing by mastering Unreal Engine and securing support from the Epic Games MegaGrant program.

The developers claim that the experience gained from their previous title has refined their approach to PC and console optimization, along with better controller support. They confirmed that the combat framework and tutorial level design are now complete, with further updates planned via their official X account.

Stray Dog: Nobody Cares has an official Steam page live right now where you can add it to your wishlist. A release date is yet to be confirmed, though the store page notes that Korean subtitles will be supported.
