During last June's leak incident raised during the Big Campfire Showcaseupdates on the ongoing situation have been announced.

On the 16th, Nexon released additional information regarding the suspected leak of showcase data for Mabinogi Mobile. This follows the criminal complaint notice posted last August. Nexon mentioned that following the notice, a complaint was filed with investigative agencies and related investigations are currently underway.

The controversy sparked right after the Big Campfire Showcase held on June 19th. Circumstances and captured screens indicating that core information regarding the Season 2 update had already been leaked in early June via specific messengers spread rapidly across communities. As signs of unreleased data leaking externally before the official announcement were captured, the situation rapidly escalated into a controversy over the fairness of the entire project as well as a breach of user trust.

In response, Nexon announced that it immediately initiated an internal fact-finding investigation on June 23rd, while also taking legal steps by submitting a formal complaint to investigative agencies. In addition, internal access logs and external community propagation paths were tracked from various angles.

Based on the fact-finding investigation conducted since, two affiliate employees who inappropriately shared unreleased information externally were identified. The two leaked affiliate employees were immediately excluded from related project tasks and held accountable to the highest level of responsibility. It is reported that the affiliate side took disciplinary action, issuing 'disciplinary dismissal' and 'suspension' respectively to the two involved employees, after comprehensively reviewing the external leakage period, method, and severity of the leaked information.

Nexon bowed its head in apology to users regarding this incident and promised thorough recurrence prevention. To plug security loopholes, security standards were re-emphasized to all members, internal security systems were significantly reinforced, and a massive overhaul of policies and work processes handling unreleased information was initiated.

The Mabinogi Mobile operation team stated, "The leakage of game information, which adventurers should be able to fairly trust and enjoy, through abnormal channels is a serious illegal act that destroys service trust," adding, "We will continue to respond with zero exceptions and pursue legal punishment if any future circumstances of unreleased information leaks or inappropriate sharing are detected."
