Path of Exile 2 is launching a four-day free-to-play event following the arrival of its latest expansion.

Kakao Games announced the Path of Exile 2 free-play event on the 26th. It runs simultaneously across all platforms from 5:00 AM on the 30th to 5:00 AM on September 2nd, with South Korean players able to join via the official Path of Exile 2 Daum Game page.

This event coincides with the 0.3.0 update, titled 'The Third Edict'. Players can dive into every piece of content available in the game, with no level caps. Every bit of progress is saved to your account; if you decide to purchase the Early Access key, you can pick up exactly where you left off, and even if you don't, your characters will remain safely stored for the official launch.

'The Third Edict' update brings a wealth of new elements, including Act 4: Kingsmarch. An interlude story arrives, alongside the very first official league: 'Rising Abyss League'. Expect significant rebalancing for core and ascendancy characters, plus a host of fresh features and systems, including the new support gem mechanics.

Meanwhile, Grinding Gear Games previously stated in a March interview that they intend to wrap up Early Access and transition to the full, official launch of Path of Exile 2 by the end of this year.
