The new arrival 'Where Winds Meet', which launched on the 15th, is quickly becoming the talk of the town. From its launch day, the title has maintained over 100,000 Concurrent Players, eventually peaking at more than 250,000. It is currently holding a 'Very Positive' rating from the community.

Where Winds Meet is an action-adventure RPG set against the chaotic backdrop of China's Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period in the 10th century. Following the collapse of the Tang Dynasty and the rise of the Song, the world is a lawless mess of warring factions. You play as a young swordsman who, after the disappearance of their guardian, sets out into the Jianghu to uncover the secrets of their past and identity.

The game leans heavily into its wuxia roots, offering a diverse arsenal including swords, spears, twin blades, fans, and umbrellas. You can weave together various martial arts, utilise acupoint strikes, counter with Tai Chi, or even manipulate objects from afar. Movement is equally fluid, allowing you to sprint up walls or dash across water using qinggong. While it offers a solid single-player experience, you can also team up with up to three friends for co-op play.

What adds a cheeky bit of charm is the level of interaction. You can buff your martial arts by interacting with fire or water, or influence your reputation by pilfering from NPCs or performing heroic deeds. Most interestingly, they have ditched the rigid dialogue tree in favour of a system where you type your own responses, which the game then reacts to—a bold attempt to pull you deeper into the world.

Where Winds Meet hit a peak of 140,000 Concurrent Players on launch day, and the momentum didn't stop there, climbing to an impressive 251,008 at its height. It has since settled into a comfortable groove, consistently maintaining over 100,000 players.

The Steam user reception is currently 'Very Positive' (with 55,333 reviews and an 87% approval rating). Players are praising the graphics, the authentic wuxia atmosphere, and combat that feels remarkably polished for a free-to-play title. The lack of pay-to-win elements—limiting monetization to purely cosmetic skins and mounts—has also been met with a warm reception. However, it isn't perfect; some have pointed out the translation quality is a bit rough, and the UI feels like a straight port from a mobile device, making PC navigation a tad clunky.

Elsewhere on the Steam charts, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has surged to the top spot following the release of its first naval-focused DLC, knocking ARC Raiders down a peg. That said, the community hasn't been entirely kind, labelling the DLC's state as 'beta-like' and leaving it with a 'Mixed' rating. Beyond that, the charts are dominated by heavily discounted titles as the Black Friday sales continue.
