Krafton has released 'KIRA' (KRAFTON Intelligence Rookie Agent), its personal AI assistant, on the open-source platform GitHub. This marks the first time the company has opened its internal technology for public use.

KIRA is a personal AI assistant that can execute programs and AI tools using only natural language commands. Users can handle daily tasks such as document creation, schedule management, and information retrieval. It operates based on the business messenger Slack. After installing the desktop app and connecting Anthropic's Claude and other API keys, it is ready for use, with costs incurred based on API usage.

KIRA features 'Smart Memory,' which remembers conversation content, ongoing projects, and important decisions. It is designed to understand the context of work, allowing users to receive continuous support without having to repeat information. It also provides active assistance, such as automatically extracting and processing tasks from Outlook emails and reflecting changes in documents and work processes in real-time.

A key feature is its 'proactive suggestion' capability, which analyzes accumulated information to suggest necessary tasks before the user even requests them. Additionally, it supports voice-based work instructions via a web interface, and ensures high security by storing conversation content and memory on the user's local computer rather than an external server. Krafton is currently considering support for AI models other than Anthropic's Claude in the future.

Lee Kang-wook, Head of Krafton's AI Division, stated, "With its local-first security architecture and proactive suggestion capabilities, KIRA will drive new work innovation across various industries and roles," adding, "As we have released it as open source, we expect it to contribute to the activation of the open-source ecosystem by evolving alongside the global AI community."

KIRA was developed based on KRIS (KRafton Intelligence System), an AI agent used internally at Krafton. Krafton stated that KRIS has improved work efficiency by reducing the time required to draft meeting minutes from one hour to three minutes and significantly decreasing repetitive information search tasks.
