Nexon has kicked off its first winter update for the mobile MMORPG MapleStory M, introducing the new character 'Khali' to the roster.

Khali is designed to be a blast, balancing high mobility while keeping movement and attack skills distinct for a punchier combat feel. To celebrate, they are running a slew of growth support events including daily check-ins, level-up milestones, and content step-ups. Rewards on offer include Extreme Growth Potions, Commander Loot Selection Boxes, Authentic Symbol dungeon tickets, Khali Damage Skins, and Epsilon Guard set vouchers.

The developer has also streamlined the leveling journey up to 200 to cut down on the grind. Until 11 February next year, any new character, including Khali, can be designated as a 'Born to V' character. By completing specific map missions with this character, you can hit level 200 in about 30 minutes. Once you reach 200, you'll also be granted a Hyper Burning Booster, which supports 1+4 level-ups all the way to level 250.

For those who have already completed their 5th job advancement on characters level 200 or above, free job transfers within the same class group are available until 14 January next year. Your inventory, storage items, Hyper Stats, HEXA Stats, and active burning or shared class skills will remain perfectly intact after the switch.

UI improvements are also rolling out to make checking your character and map data much less of a headache. The Nett's Pyramid has been simplified into a single-mode experience with consolidated difficulty levels, while the Guide content has been overhauled into a character-specific 'Level Guide'.

Finally, the 'Aer Star and Wind Story' event is live until 18 March next year. By tackling daily missions, boss raids, and the 'Wind Road Rescue' mini-game, you can hoard EXP and Star Wind Coins to spend in the event shop for various in-game items.
