The Nexon Foundation has signed a three-way memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Beaver Computing Education Association (BIKO) and the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education to strengthen computational thinking and informatics education.

This partnership is set to run until February 2027. It is designed to provide systematic support for informatics education across elementary, middle, and high schools in the region, creating an environment that links teacher training with student coursework.

The three organizations plan to co-develop and operate informatics (SW) educational content and teacher training programs using 'BIKO', a free coding education platform. They will also provide resources from major programming competitions, including the Nexon Youth Programming Challenge (NYPC), the Informatics Olympiad, and the Beaver Challenge, to schools.

For educators, the foundation will provide lecture plans, practical materials, assignments, and assessment rubrics for both mandatory and autonomous training. Furthermore, they are rolling out specialized training for teachers guiding students through the Beaver Challenge and NYPC, covering past paper analysis, problem design, and curriculum integration. They will also support professional learning communities focused on sharing best practices and mentorship.

For students, the support includes lesson plans, activity sheets, and assessment tools for both regular and elective classes. They are also establishing project-based learning tracks to help prepare students for the Beaver Challenge, the NYPC, and the Informatics Olympiad.
