The beta test for 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 7', scheduled for official release on November 14, has sparked controversy as a large number of cheat program users appeared just hours after the test began.

The testing window ran from the 2nd to the 4th of this month for early access, followed by a broader run from the 5th to the 8th. For the PC version, Activision mandated the activation of TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to detect more instances of foul play. Despite these measures, videos of players using wallhacks and aimbots have spread rapidly across social media.

The developers explained that this situation occurred because the upgraded version of Ricochet, Activision's kernel-level anti-cheat system, has not yet been fully implemented. They stated that additional cheat protection measures will be fully applied by the official launch. However, criticism continues that the policy disregarded the inconvenience caused to users during the beta period.

Meanwhile, Activision stated that it has reported significant progress in anti-cheat efforts during the beta period. They claimed that through an enhanced detection system, 97% of cheat accounts were sanctioned within 30 minutes of their first login, and less than 1% of accounts were removed before entering a live match. They clarified that most of the cheaters seen in videos circulating on social media had already been sanctioned, emphasizing that real-time monitoring is working effectively.

Activision is also responding firmly against cheat developers, noting that they have shut down over 40 cheat creators and distributors since the release of Black Ops 6. Additionally, acknowledging that most cheat programs are concentrated on PC, they provided an option for console users to disable crossplay. Activision plans to fully introduce additional security measures at the time of the official launch based on the data obtained from this beta.
