올해 최대의 종합 게임쇼로 꼽히는 독일 라이프치히 게임컨벤션쇼(이하 GC 2007)가 23일(한국시간 24일 오후 4)시 개막돼 오는 26일까지 나흘 동안 진행된다.

올해 최대의 종합 게임쇼로 꼽히는 독일 라이프찌히 게임컨벤션쇼(이하 GC 2007)가 23일(한국시간 23일 오후 4)시 개막돼 오는 26일까지 나흘 동안 진행된다.

GC 2007에는 26개국에서 410개의 업체가 참여하며(GC 2006 368개), 행사장소 역시 115,000 평방미터로 지난해에 비해 약 28%정도 증가했다. GC 2007 주최측인 라이프찌히 페어는 20만 명의 인원이 행사기간 중 전시장을 방문할 것으로 예측했다.

올해 최대규모를 자랑하는 만큼 내용도 풍성하다. EA, 소니, Ubi소프트, 코나미, 액티비전 등 세계유수의 게임업체들이 자사의 신작 타이틀의 최신정보를 공개할 예정이다. 특히 `바이오쇼크`, `스포어`,`파크라이 2` `메탈기어솔리드 4` 등 콘솔/PC용 대작 게임들의 플레이 데모가 공개될 것으로 기대되고 있다. 특히 매 게임쇼마다 `메탈기어솔리드`의 새로운 트레일러를 발표했던 코나미는 GC 2007에서 `메탈기어솔리드 4`의 새로운 트레일러를 공개할 것으로 알려졌다.    

한국 게임팬들이 관심을 가질만한 정보도 GC 2007을 통해 공개될 예정. 블리자드는 `스타크래프트 2`와 `월드오브워크래프트: 리치왕의 분노`의 시연버전을 블리즈컨에 이어 GC 2007에서도 공개한다. 또 엔씨소프트는 독일 현지 유통회사 플레쉬포인트의 부스를 통해 `아이언`, `타뷸라라사`,  `길드워: 아이 오브 노스` 등을 전시하며 시연도 진행할 예정이다. 이외에도 오는 9월 한국 클로즈베타테스트를 앞두고 있는 ‘헬게이트: 런던’ 역시 EA 부스를 통해 최신 버전이 공개될 예정이다.
